Glass Cathedral

from $89.00

Getting into this cave was quite the experience, giving me a little bit of a feeling of spelunking. Laying down on my belly and sliding across the pack ice, I was able to squeeze my upper body through the first curtain of ice. I then had to turn my shoulders about 70 degrees in order to slide through the next curtain of ice, with a similar lower body action to follow. With almost no head clearance I setup my ball head directly on the ice surface, without a tripod. The thing that really creeped my out while being stuck in this position, with my head inches from the ice above and below, was that I could hear the ice cracking and reverberating in an intense way inside these confines. As new pressure ridges popped and ice shoves piled up, it would snap through the ice with the sound of a whip. I could just picture one of those pressure ridges popping beneath me, and smashing me upward into the roof of the cave, with plenty of icicles to skewer me. There were piles of freshly stacked ice shards just outside the cave entrance to show that this scenario playing out in my mind wasn't that ridiculous. This was an exciting experience, but I was kind of relieved to get out of there.

Metal Prints-

Dye-Infused metal prints are the benchmark for luxurious fine-art prints. Metal prints have a magical luminescence and vibrancy. Many people think that the prints are back-lit because of their beautiful glow.

Using high heat and pressure, special inks are infused into coated aluminum plates. Because the image is infused into and not onto the special coating, the prints have an archival value and durability that is unparalleled. These prints have a coating that is UV protected, water resistant, and scratch resistant. They are the ultimate in longevity and a clean, bold look with colors that "pop".

The default option of metal print is a high-gloss finish that adds to the "pop" that metal prints are known for. Prints can alternatively me made with a non-glare/matte finish, or a satin finish if preferred. There is no additional charge for this finish, just be sure to let me know if you would prefer an alternate finish.

Metal prints also include free drop-shipping. If you are looking for a particular size of metal print that you don't see as an option here, feel free to send me a message. Metal prints can be made in just about any size.

Metal prints are limited edition, with a maximum edition size of 100 prints across all sizes.

Metal Print Mounts and Frames-

  • Frameless Floating Mount - For a clean and modern look, this mount floats the metal print off of the wall 3/4”. It is economical, and comes ready to hang

  • Black Metal Shadow Frame - The Shadow Frame has an extraordinary look that compliments metal prints perfectly. It adds a finished look, without overpowering the image. The frame is made from a very elegant brushed anodized aluminum, It is also available in silver, or gold. This frame adds about 2” to the overall dimensions of the artwork. For example, a 24x36” print becomes 26x38”. All frames come with a pre-installed wire for hanging right out of the box.

  • Black Metal Bevel Frame - The brushed black anodized finish makes the Bevel Frame a perfect choice for displaying high-end metal prints. The Bevel is my favorite metal frame. It is impressive, rich looking and substantial enough to easily hold the largest print we offer. This frame sets the metal print off with a 1/2'“ floating channel. All frames come with a pre-installed wire for hanging right out of the box. This frame is 2 1/8” deep, and adds 4” onto the artworks overall size. For example, a 24x36” print becomes 28x40”.

  • Cascadia Wood Frame- The Cascadia Wood Frame is an elegant choice that perfectly blends modern sensibilities with traditional elegance. . Our unique inner channel floats your print within the frame. The Cascadia is an ideal way to add a rich, warm touch to your print. An attached wire allows for hanging right out of the box. This frame adds significant presence to your artwork, and fills large spaces. This moulding will add 7 1/2” onto the total dimensions of your artwork. For example, a 30x45” metal print with the Cascadia Frame becomes 37 1/2” x 52 1/2”.

Traditional Fine Art Paper Prints-

All traditional fine art photographs are printed in-house, by Josh Merrill, for the utmost quality control. Photographs are printed with K3 pigment inks on archival papers, and are double-matted with acid-free mat board to fit in standard frame sizes.
